The suitability questionnaire

What the suitability questionnaire is for, where to find it, and tips for answering it honestly before you trade futures or CFDs.

The suitability questionnaire asks about your trading experience and your understanding of risk. You fill it in at Questionnaire after you log in.

What it's for

A suitability questionnaire helps check whether higher-risk products are a reasonable fit for you. Futures and CFDs use leverage, which means you can lose money quickly. Answering the questions is also a good moment to think about how much experience you have and how much you can afford to lose.

How to fill it in

  1. Log in at Log in.
  2. Open the Questionnaire page.
  3. Read each question carefully and choose the answer that fits you best.
  4. Check your answers, then submit them.

Tips for answering

  • Be honest. It's fine to be new to trading. Overstating your experience doesn't protect you from losses.
  • Answer for yourself. Don't fill it in for someone else, and don't let someone else fill it in for you.
  • Look up terms you don't know. If a question mentions something unfamiliar, read Margin, leverage and liquidation or Trade forex, indices, commodities and stocks (CFDs) first.
  • Take your time. There's no need to rush. Think about each answer.

How it differs from identity verification

They're separate steps. Identity verification (KYC) confirms who you are, and its status appears on your Profile page. The questionnaire is about your experience and how well you understand the risks. See Verify your identity.

Before you trade leveraged products: read the Risk disclosure and Understand the risks of trading. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
