How to trade spot
Buy and sell crypto on the Trade page: pick a pair like BTC/USDT, choose a market or limit order, check the estimated fee and place it.
Spot trading means buying or selling a coin outright at the current market price, using funds you already hold. On Trade Llama you trade spot on the Trade page: pick a pair such as BTC/USDT, choose an order type, enter an amount and place your order.
Spot trading concepts
- Pairs: every market is a pair, like BTC/USDT. The first coin (BTC) is what you buy or sell. The second (USDT) is what you pay with or receive. The price is how much of the second coin one unit of the first costs.
- Buy and sell: buying BTC/USDT spends USDT to get BTC. Selling does the opposite.
- Your own funds only: margin (borrowing) on spot isn't offered, so you trade only what's in your account. Prices can still fall, and you can lose some or all of what you put in.
- Fees: each order's estimated fee is shown in the order form before you place it. The full schedule is on the Fees page.
